AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
The Lifespan of a Fact is a fast-paced, intellectually charged play built almost entirely from language. It centers on a high-stakes debate between a meticulous fact-checker and a celebrated writer over accuracy, ethics, and the nature of truth. The dialogue is sharp, precise, and often combative.
Actors auditioning should look for monologues that emphasize clarity of thought, verbal agility, and point-of-view. The style favors argument over confession, ideas over sentiment, and subtle shifts in power. Humor often arises from tension, irony, and relentless specificity rather than punchlines.
Strong choices will feel contemporary, intelligent, and grounded—characters who are certain they are right, articulate under pressure, and fully committed to defending their version of the truth.
Please prepare one-to-two-minute contemporary monologue.
You will meet the director, Dominic Green and PPTC's artistic director, Jennifer McHugh at your audition.
Callbacks by invitation only.
